Marie-Catherine Bouchard studied at Laval University in Quebec where she completed a bachelor’s degree in jazz vocal performance as well as a master’s degree in instrumental didactics which she obtained in 2015. She is now a teacher of jazz-pop singing at Cégep de Ste-Foy in Quebec City. Marie-Catherine performs as a singer in various events with different formats. For the past 6 years, she has been performing a tribute to the singer Barbara at various venues in Quebec City, including Espace Félix-Leclerc, Maison Hamel-Bruneau, and the Petit théâtre de Québec. She is regularly hired by organizations as a freelance singer for various events. She released her first album of covers of Barbara’s work, “La Tulipe Noire – Reprises de Barbara” in February 2021.
Marie-Catherine crossed paths with Estill Voice Training, a model of anatomy, physiology and acoustics of the voice, in 2011. She obtained her Estill Master Trainer certification in 2017. This certification led her to teach small groups in several training sessions in Quebec and abroad, to accompany several artists in their vocal training and to offer several workshops to discover the Estill Voice Training model.
