(Languages spoken: French, English)
Karine Lévesque holds a college degree in classical singing as well as a technical training in pop and jazz singing from Campus Notre-Dame-de-Foy (1997). She graduated from Université Laval with a bachelor’s in music (classical singing) in 2003. Known for her teaching skills, versatility and infectious passion for singing, she quickly became sought after to give vocal workshops. She was invited in 2009 to teach vocal techniques to young singers, songwriters and composers at the École Nationale de la chanson (Granby) as well as the Cégep de Thetford-Mines Karine learned about Jo Estill’s work in 2010 for the first time. Impressed by the efficiency of the proposed model and by its scientific foundation, she studied and integrated her new acquired tools to her teaching methods in the following years.
In 2013, she joined the teaching body of the music department of the Campus Notre-Dame-de-Foy where she currently teaches pop and jazz singing with Julie Cimon Racine. In October 2014, Karine obtained her Certified Master Trainer (EMT) Certification. With over 15 years of experience as a teacher, backup singer and soloist, she works with a clientele of diverse music backgrounds. Her curiosity and interest in the physiological aspects of the voice, spoken and sung, led her to perfect her training. She is currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in language sciences at Université Laval.
